Reasons for Dreams

Dreams are one of the most interesting and weird habits that humans posses. Dreams are defined as the phenomenon that produces a set of visuals in front of your eyes as a result of  is certain brain activity which is not known in scientific terms yet, with the entry of external stimuli to the brain blocked. Now, you know that there is a thought process involved in the dream because, it is claimed that you have this problem solving capacity in your dreams. And you know it was a dream and not just a thought because the next day morning, you form a memory of the dream. Now, other person can only know that you had a dream if you narrate it to him. They cannot see or experience your dream, and they cannot be told or informed about it while it is happening.

Now, if you are wondering what the factors that affect your dreams are, then the answer is – I am not sure. Most of the scientific community says the same. No one has understood the whole dream phenomenon. Having said that, there are however some things which tell you how your dream activity will be.

One of the factors are the things or events happening or which are about to happen in your life. You dream about these factors as a reflection on your life. The kind of medications you are on and the amount of alcohol or tobacco intake also affects your dreams. And not to forget the food you ate in the past day also affects your dream sequence.  There are lot more unknown factors to this which are yet to be discovered.

Cost of dream

Price dreams. Better to see once than hear a hundred times. We often hear this cliche. But in fact, seen and not replace a thousand words. And if this is the dream of a hidden picture, which so wants to see, what is its price? What about simple designs? Without doubt they are worth slightly less than the finished product. Or not? Once on the course of psychotherapy, I presented these questions to my students, beginners. This is very simple dream client psychotherapy, with whom I worked for a couple of years ago.

I can not tell you anything about him personally, but his dream, and then let’s investigate what we can learn about it, analyzing his dreams. Here’s his dream: “To me was put on white shirt and purple tie.” The students looked at me in anticipation of the continuation of the story. “No – I said – this is his dream.” Now let’s explore. Then I brought them to the group process of free association with sleep. Just let your imagination grow wild. Imagine all the details and let your conscience go to wander through them. Whatever came to mind?

Ignore nothing. This is important. There is nothing right or wrong. This exercise can be fun, although the results can be serious and impressive. There is the idea that the free association of bypassing the protective reaction of the rational mind, logical thinking and open door to deep unconscious. Some fantasy, symbolism and emotion, where dreams are born. Here is a list of associations that have emerged from the students. I systemized something that, as during the exercises ideas appear in the free stream of consciousness: purple… greatness, bruises, asthma, breath holding, the bitterness, the combination of blue and pink, combined with black, the color purple tie…
